Decision Making Implications from Significant Events
The Warning Decision Training Branch has developed an online
presentation entitled “Learning from History:
Warning Decision Making
Implications from Significant Events”. The
module is a summary of
warning decision making concepts which have been presented in
collaboration with field sights at WDM workshops since 1997. The
concepts are presented in the context of significant severe weather
events which have occurred over the past several years. Reviews
of
severe weather conceptual models, situation awareness, and warning
strategies are also included in the presentation.
The training module is in a VisitView audio replay format. The
presentation is available for download below. The transcript
of the presentation is available in PDF and HTML formats.

- Run the Presentation
To use the presentation, download the file, execute the file
(wdmsumm2003audio.exe) to expand the presentation. Then execute
the visitplay.bat file to hear the audio replay of the presentation.
To view the presentation in auto mode, run the autoplay.bat
file. In auto mode, the presentation runs without interruption.
