Page 4: Testing your installation To test the lesson in local mode: 1. Make sure your setting for the desktop area is at least 800 by 600 pixels. The desktop area can be set by clicking on the start, settings, control panel, display, settings. If you fail to see the bottom of the "ViewClient" where the control panel resides then your screensize is set too low. DLOC course students will need to have at least 1024 X 768 pixels. 2. Go into the correct folder and double click on the visitlocal.bat file from 'My Computer' or 'Windows Explorer. 3. A "ViewClient" window should appear, with a large red triangle. A control panel should appear at the bottom of the window. Click on the red button labeled 'next' to review the individual pages in the lesson. We discuss the control panel on page 6. If you attempt to invoke visitlocal.bat and get an "out-of-environment space" error, then there we have a suggested solution.
